MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 5/3

Yesterday the Dodgers saved the day from being another zero. I hate that fact (because I am not an LAD guy) even though a win is a win. I was sure Ryan Yarbrough would be a bust because pretty much all KC pitchers are this season, but he bested that K prop before the end of the first, so at least I was right about not having to wait.

We have a slightly smaller card as there are some day games in MLB today. More than enough action to bridge the gap until the next Warriors-Lakers game.

Los Angeles Dodgers -150 (win)
L.A. got the easy win like they were supposed to when you pay that premium.

Cleveland Guardians +135 (loss)
It was a long shot fading Gerrit Cole, but that is how you try and get ahead with MLB betting.

Ryan Yarbrough Under 2.5 Strikeouts +125 (loss)
Oddly, Yarbrough struck out 3 in the first inning. Of course, KC blew the game later.

Favorite

Atlanta Braves -135 (at Miami Marlins)

Atlanta is probably the best team in the National League. Starter Kyle Wright might not ever win like he did a season ago, but against Miami, it is a very favorable matchup, and Braxton Garrett is not fearsome. Atlanta can outslug any team, especially the Marlins, if they need to.

Underdog

Minnesota Twins +105 (at Chicago White Sox)

I have to admit I do not know anything about Louie Varland, other than he struck out 8 Yankees in his only other start this season. Minnesota won that night and they are in such better form than Chicago to start the season, to the extent that you can look past Dylan Cease. The Twins can wait him out if they need to.

Prop

Whit Merrifield Over 0.5 Runs +150

The payoff was too good to ignore for this one. Toronto has been in a little bit of a funk but they are still scoring runs. Merrifield has been getting on base in the middle of the lineup and even though he has not scored in the last couple of games this is priced way too high.
